Whitchurch-Stouffville, located 50 kilometres north of downtown Toronto, has a population of 37,628, with a projected population in 2031 of 60,600. Located on the environmentally sensitive Oak Ridges Moraine, Whitchurch-Stouffville is located just North of Markham and East of Claremont and Uxbridge. You may recognize many of the smaller communities within Whitchurch-Stouffville including Vandorf, Ballantrae, Gormley, Preston Lake, Cedar Valley, Bloomington, Lemonville, Bethesda and Musselman Lake. According to Statistics Canada in 2006, Ballantrae was the fastest growing community in Canada. Relative to other Ontario municipalities, Whitchurch-Stouffville enjoys a higher-than-average median household income.
The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is part of York Region. Its sister city is Igoma, Tanzania. In fact, the Stouffville Igoma Partnership is responsible for providing donations and community outreach, which resulted in the construction of a medical clinic in Igoma. The main thoroughfares out of Whitchurch-Stouffville are Hwy 404, Hwy 407 and Hwy 48.
